Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Born in Canada but rooted in the Bay Area since 2000, Bianca is a personal trainer specializing in TRX and Dynamax. She also leads some serious calorie-scorching, body-sculpting boot camps. To witness her plank atop three exercise balls without wobbling is quite something.
Inspired by her own experience as a busy mom, she helps other mothers juggle the challenge of squeezing fitness into an already packed day. She’s even developed special regimens for moms that include the kids. There’s some serious love out there from her followers. Says one: "This woman is a superhero–she does it all!"
In one sentence, tell us about yourself.
I’m a super-athletic, enthusiastic mom of two who is committed to living a healthy, fit lifestyle, and always motivating everyone in my life—from my clients to my family.
What inspired you to become a trainer/fitness instructor?
I have always had a deep connection with fitness, sports and the great outdoors that started in my early years growing up on a farm in Canada. My passion naturally led me to pursue my dreams and to share my joys—my expertise in fitness and living a healthy, fit and balanced lifestyle.
What advice would you offer to someone who is just starting in your class?
Take your time and listen to your body. Take breaks when you need to and don’t forget to breathe. I’m here for you if you need any modifications, just ask. Embrace that burn. And hydration is key!
Fun fact...go!
I was 1996 Rodeo Queen.
If you weren’t in fitness, what would you be doing?
Traveling and experiencing other cultures and embracing the world around us. I would find a way to make a career out of it because when I set my mind to something, nothing will stop me. I’ve traveled to over 40 countries and want to continue to see our beautiful world.
What are your top three workout jams?
"Without Me" by Eminem; "Shut Up and Dance" by Walk the Moon; and "Time of Our Lives" by Pitbull and Ne-Yo.
