We're still verklempt from our second-floor whirl through Barneys (77 O'Farrell Street) shoe salon for a meet and greet with the oh-so-charming (that accent) designer Gianvito Rossi on Tuesday. The talented Milan-based artist (yes, his papa is master shoemaker Sergio Rossi, who learned the craft from his father) was in town to show off his sexy new Fall/Winter collection.

Known for elegant yet playful styles, the new Gianvito Rossi lineup evokes 1970s cool. Suede—in a range of rich and pale hues, and animal prints—takes center stage and pops from over-the-knee boots with fresh rounded toes and chunky heels, as well as chic booties and shorter styles. Adding lightness and femininity to the collection are a slew of strappy sky-high heels in lace and velvet.

There was one shoe in particular, however, that made our heart skip a beat. Her name is DarcyShe's a sandal with a 4-inch slender heel and double-ankle straps with an ankle tie—in the most brilliant shade of red suede. (Seems like we're not the only ones besotted with Ms. D, as a recent peek online shows sizes are selling out quickly.)

Next time in Milano, OK Gianvito?
