Unfortunately, the hair gods decided not to bless us with glorious ringlets (sigh). But that hasn't put a stop to our fascination with springy Shirley Temple-like corkscrews, giant Afros and twirls of all sorts. Precisely why we of the straight-tressed tribe are beyond excited about Curls Night Out. The free event takes place on Monday, February 22nd (7pm) at the Jewish Community Center San Francisco (JCCSF).
Curl experts Marie Cesar of SF's MaduSalon and Jonathan Pillot of Project Curly will be on hand to revel in the ringlets and help explore the power, the politics, the sexiness and the self-expression of the most enigmatic of hair types. Bottom line: It's a celebration of curly culture.
Note: Early birds who show up at 6pm can watch live haircuts by MaduSalon stylists. Hmm, wonder if they can magically transform poker-straight locks into a mane like Felicity's.
The event is complimentary but please RSVP in advance or call 415-292-1233.
