Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

For those unaccustomed to facial hair, Movember comes as a shock. And while we fully support dudes raising money for (and awareness about) men's health issues, there are many faces in this city that just aren't cut out for facial foliage. If your co-workers anxiously and repeatedly asked if your new facial hair was just a Movember fad, you're probably one of those men who's better off clean-shaven. But before you beat a hasty retreat into a bathroom with your Mach 3 (or —shudder— a Bic), why not cap off your razor-less month with a proper shave? These San Francisco barber shops will help you bid adieu to your mustache with the kind of classic, hot shave that would make your grandpa proud.
